Frequently Asked Questions
GutSense specializes in the holistic care of digestive health. We treat a variety of conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, chronic digestive problems, food intolerances, and we perform preventive examinations (gastroscopy and colonoscopy). In addition, we offer nutrition counseling and health coaching, tailored to your individual needs.
It depends on your insurance model:
- HMO model (family doctor model): In this case, you need a referral from your primary care physician to schedule an appointment with us.
- Free choice of doctor: If you have this model, you can book an appointment directly with us — no referral needed.
For our nutrition counseling, you can always book directly. Referrals from doctors are also welcome and can be submitted conveniently via our online form, by email, or directly through our online booking system.
Many of our medical services, such as endoscopies or diagnostic examinations, are insured and are generally covered by basic health insurance.
Additional services like microbiome tests or coaching are privately billed. To ensure you know exactly what to expect, we provide transparent, personal advice in advance. We offer clearly structured package solutions that include both the test and an individual consultation — so you can make informed decisions.
You can easily book your appointment online via our website gutsense.ch/appointment or contact us by phone at +41 44 350 65 65. Our clinic is open Monday to Friday.

Please bring your health insurance card. If available, a list of your medications or relevant medical documents such as previous test results or referrals is helpful. This allows us to advise you optimally from the start and jointly determine the best approach for your health.
